Community Standards
Version 2026-08-draft-1 · The rules that keep this a professional, safe place
Draft for legal review. This document is adapted to StudentsToCareer’s actual data flows but has not yet been reviewed by qualified legal counsel. It must be reviewed and approved before public launch.
StudentsToCareer is a professional environment for people at the start of their careers. These standards apply to every profile, post, message, community and listing.
Always prohibited
- Harassment and bullying, including unwanted repeated contact and intimidation.
- Sexual solicitation of any kind. This is a career platform with many young users; violations lead to immediate removal.
- Hate speech targeting protected characteristics.
- Doxxing — publishing someone’s private information without consent.
- Impersonation of people, institutions or employers.
- Employment scams, including any request that applicants pay fees, buy equipment upfront, or share banking credentials.
- Credential fraud and academic misconduct, including forged records and plagiarized portfolio work.
- Malicious links, malware and spam, including mass unsolicited messages.
- Unauthorized data collection, including scraping profiles.
Professional conduct
- Be truthful about your experience and skills. Verified means verified.
- Keep feedback constructive; critique work, not people.
- Respect boundaries: if someone declines a connection or mentorship, do not pursue further contact.
- Recruitment messages must be clearly labelled and relevant to the recipient’s stated interests.
Enforcement
Reports are reviewed by human moderators. Depending on severity, consequences range from content removal and warnings to temporary suspension and permanent bans. Employer verification can be revoked. Illegal activity may be reported to authorities.
Appeals
If you believe a moderation decision was wrong, you can appeal through the Safety Centre. Appeals are reviewed by someone other than the original decision-maker.
