Terms of Service
Version 2026-08-draft-1 · Applies to studentstocareer.com
1. Who we are
StudentsToCareer (“the Platform”) is a professional networking and career platform for students, operated in Canada and powered by ABIEdu. These Terms govern your use of the Platform.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least the age of majority for online services in your jurisdiction, and in any case at least 16 years old, to create an account.
- You must provide accurate information. Impersonating another person or organization is prohibited and will result in removal.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your password. Enable additional security in Settings where available.
3. Free student access
Core Platform services are free of charge for students. Students are never required to pay to apply for opportunities listed on the Platform. Any listing demanding payment from applicants violates these Terms — report it.
4. Verification
- The Verified Student badge indicates a confirmed institutional email address; it is not an academic transcript.
- Verified credentials shown on Career Passports come from ABIEdu or administrator-approved records. Attempting to forge or manipulate credential records is grounds for permanent removal.
- Employer accounts remain restricted until verified by our team. Verification may be revoked at any time for cause.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to engage in harassment, hate speech, sexual solicitation, discrimination, doxxing, spam, scams, unauthorized data collection (including scraping), malware distribution, academic misconduct or credential fraud. The Community Standards form part of these Terms.
6. Your content
You retain ownership of content you post. You grant the Platform a limited licence to host, display and distribute your content solely to operate the service according to your privacy settings. You can delete your content or your account at any time.
7. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights, including data export and deletion.
8. Employer and institutional terms
Organizations using recruiting, licensing or sponsorship services agree to supplementary terms provided during onboarding, including obligations of lawful, non-discriminatory hiring practice and consent-based candidate contact.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with an appeal process described in the Safety Centre. You may delete your account at any time in Settings.
10. Disclaimers and liability
The Platform connects people and opportunities but does not guarantee employment outcomes. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Platform is provided “as is” and our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the preceding twelve months (for students, typically zero).
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
12. Changes
We will notify account holders of material changes to these Terms and record the version you accepted.
